What is Internet ? How to functioning internet ?

What is Internet ?

Internet is abbreviation from inter network. This is network of computer global (Wide Area Network or WAN) which connected million of computer in the world. This is enabling our communication and changing our experience with all people in the world.
Internet providing any easily, one of them is Telnet, that is accessing a computer of another place.

‘IRC chat’ is one of tool for communication with another people in the world, send and accept e-mail, network ‘newsgroup’, removed fail from one computer to another computer with usage to WWW (World Wide Web).


How to functioning internet ?
Most of all internet user usage connecting dial up with modem for connected to the internet. The staring internet process when connecting computer to ISP (Internet Service Provider).
The practice staring processing connecting internet when you open internet explorer or other application to open website in your computer.
Connecting to internet, we use protocol. This protocol is named TCP/IP (Transmission Control Protocol/ Internet Protocol), representing language of standard internet.
Signal analogue from a modem will trace cable telephone and will trace passing communication satellite. Every computer have the unique identity address, this is internet protocol.
From the institution usually use a unique identity… and shared into users as internal internet protocol. This internal internet protocol nothing tracing out. In the world internet, this address will be detected by as one identity … that is institution’s internet protocol.

Internet connector from one country to another country with cable attach in sea floor. We will joined to internet services, and we will joined to web server. The web servers may be use different operating system (OS), example Linux, Windows NT, UNIX, FreeBSD, etc.

World Wide Web (WWW)
It is pages collection on file in computer in the world, and connected with WWW. We can tracing to the www with use Microsoft internet explorer, mozilla firefox, etc.
We can use the internet to :

- reading news;
- goods / service sales;
- work searching;
- games;
- courses on line;
- study;
- investigation.
